Social media tips and resources

Social media is a great tool for connecting with other festival organisers, as well as letting people know about your event and how they can get involved.

Follow us

You can find us on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter). Please follow us and remember to tag us in your social media posts.

Please use our hashtag in your social media posts. This makes it easier for people to find, like and share your posts.

You can also follow the #RefugeeFestScot hashtag to see what others taking part in the festival are saying on social media.

We’ve created some Refugee Festival Scotland social media resources, which you can find here.

You are welcome to share these on social media, or use your own photos and video clips.

You can find logos and other design elements which you can use to create your own graphics and posters here.

What to post

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Let people know why you’re proud to be part of Refugee Festival Scotland and where they can find more information
  • Share key details about your event – what is happening on the day? When and where will it take place? How can people take part?
  • Create a buzz by posting photos, short video clips and stories about your event and the people involved
  • What are you looking forward to? Is it the food, the music, the dancing? Are you excited about coming together as a community?
  • What does this year’s festival theme, rise, mean to you?
  • Remind everyone about your event a few days before it takes place
  • Post some live updates during your event
  • After your event, let everyone know how it went and thank people for coming along

If you are not sure what to write, here are some suggestions:
