Our unique arts and culture festival takes place every summer with hundreds of colourful events and activities in locations up and down the country.  It celebrates the contribution refugee communities make to society and the food drink, music, poetry, dance, art, language and ideas that people bring with them when they settle in Scotland. 

Refugee Festival Scotland invites people from different backgrounds to meet and mix and get to know each other better. Taking part is great fun and a fantastic way to make new connections and build bonds of community and friendship.

Anyone can get involved. Whether you want to host an event of your own, or just turn up and enjoy the fun.

If you would like to run an event or activity as part of this year's festival, please complete a Event Registration Form. 

All events must be registered by May 1st, 2023, using the registration form. 

Please note that if your event details change after that date, we may not be able to update your event listing on this website.

No, it is free to register your event. 

If you would like to support the work of Scottish Refugee Council, all donations are welcome.  Your support helps us assist people seeking sanctuary to re-build their lives in Scotland. Find out more about the different ways to donate or get involved. 

Yes, you can. Every event included in our Festival programme is an opportunity for people to take part and get together. 

If you are organising more than one event, please submit a separate registration form entry for each.

Our Small Grants Fund is open to grassroots groups and community organisations which are run by refugees or provide support for people seeking safety. 

Groups and organisations can apply for up to £500 to help them cover the cost of running events and activities as part of Refugee Festival Scotland, and we were pleased to be able to support over 65 groups this year.

Please note: this year's Small Grants Fund is now closed. We will not be able to provide any funding for events.

Yes. It would be great to have events in different languages. We want the Festival to be inclusive for everyone, including speakers of other languages. 

We will share a Festival toolkit, full of tips and resources to help you plan and promote your event.
