By Children's Literature and Literacies, University of Glasgow

A workshop for teachers and academics using children’s literature to enable storytelling. In this three-part event, participants will:

a) Attend a virtual tour of refugee narratives in children’s literature,

b) Learn about strategies on how to use refugee children’s narratives in classrooms and home settings to enable storytelling

c) Create their own stories in a variety of mediums (e.g. zines, comic strips, visual art and oral narratives among others)

If participants wish, selections from the stories created will be showcased on the University of Glasgow Children’s Literature and Literacy social media accounts.

This event will interest teachers and community members working with refugee communities, as well as current or prospective students of children’s literature or professionals working in this area.
