Stories of Food and Culture from Scottish Refugee Communities

14:00 - 16:00

By Glasgow Women's Library

Mark Refugee Festival Scotland with Glasgow Women’s Library at the Hidden Gardens to tuck into fusion foods and listen to stories of food, hospitality and culture from the home countries of local refugee women. Pull up a chair and gather around a beautiful tablecloth art piece, created by women’s groups alongside textile artist Paria Goodarzi*, followed by a chance to get creative using art techniques such as block printing and badge making to decorate your very own tote bag.

Glasgow Women’s Library is the only accredited museum in the UK dedicated to women’s lives, histories and achievements, with a lending library, archive collections and innovative programmes of public events & learning opportunities. The Library offers loads of opportunities, for women and by women; help with reading and writing, courses and events, a lending library chocca with books and a friendly ear if you just need a chat.

This event is part of Refugee Festival Scotland’s Opening Day celebrations.
