Join us for a day of gardening, cooking and eating together!

We’ll start the morning with a gardening workshop on summer seeding and harvesting fruit and vegetables.

You’re then invited to join us as we cook and share a meal together at Square Deal, our new community hub in Huntly town square.

During Refugee Festival Scotland, we’re also hosting Mutual Affinities, a pilot programme for six New Scot artists. The group will organise a special Friday Lunch event, which will take place during our meal.

11 am: Gardening workshop – planting seeds in unity with people experiencing displacement across the world

1 pm: Friday Lunch – programmed by Mutual Affinities artist group

About the Deveron Projects:

Deveron Projects is a socially engaged arts organisation based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. We connect artists, communities and places through creative research and engagement, since 1995. Our definition of culture is broad. It is a way for us to explore and understand a wide range of socio-political subjects, never shying away from difficult current issues. In the past, those have included food, ecology, the environment, health, community planning, our relationship with other countries and migration.
