Scratch Cooking
18:30 - 20:30
By Küche
A play on the traditional ‘Scratch Night’ event – Scratch Cooking is an evening designed to give young aspiring cooks the opportunity to ‘test’ out their recipes on a live audience. This event will be curated by a group of young refugee and ‘local’ cooks providing a unique 3 course menu.
Küche is a social start-up which uses a socially engaged food practice to create a programme of one-off food-led events and community dinners that discuss the anthropology of food. All food led events work in collaboration with multicultural chefs and have been designed to celebrate minority cuisines, tell collective and individual stories, provoke discussion on a variety of social issues and experiment with food products, recipes and tastes. Küche’s overall mission is to promote integration, overcome social isolation, celebrate minority cuisines, as well as create sustainable outcomes for refugee and other multicultural cooks.
