Festival of International Solidarity
Saturday, 25 June
14:00 - 16:00
By Edinburgh Trades Union Council
Join Edinburgh TUC for a public show of solidarity with people fleeing war and persecution in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and other countries around the world. There are many reasons why people are forced to leave their homes, from political repression, religious persecution and ethnic cleansing to the impact of catastrophic climate change.
Governments should not use immigration legislation that discriminates against refugees or makes lives more difficult than they already are. Everyone in search of safety should be welcomed. This event is designed to reaffirm that our common humanity means we all deserve equal and dignified treatment.
We invite trade unions, and organisations representing and campaigning for refugee rights, and against racism, wars, repression and climate change, to join us on Leith Links with stalls, publicity, or events.
