Fashion Culture Show

A fashion show at Milk Cafe in Govanhill aimed at young people aged up to 25.

Milk Café will work with workshop participants to design, create and present a young person led fashion show using upcycled materials and other low cost design and production techniques. They will set out to challenge fashion culture, explore identity and create a unique fashion show to exhibit our ideas. They will experiment with various art forms including design, make up, photography, fashion, sewing and performance.

Milk Café is a Community Interest Company (CIC) initiated specifically to provide opportunities for integration to people who are new to the community. It is located on Victoria Road, Glasgow in the community which is one of the most cultural diverse in Scotland. Milk Café has become a recognised hub for inter cultural exchange and support. Milk Café operates in two ways: until 5pm daily as a normal commercial café, offering volunteer placements and training opportunities for refugee and migrant women, and after 5pm daily, as a community resource where individuals and agencies provide non-profit activities including English language lessons, youth club and other activities.
