Community Celebration Families/Young People Outdoor

Join us at the Barn for a fun filled closing day event, to round off Refugee Festival Scotland 2024!

You’ll find outdoor craft workshops in the Barn’s beautiful garden spaces. You can also join in with some outdoor games, kite flying, or relax with painting and drawing sessions. There’ll be hot drinks and snacks for everyone on arrival.

In the early evening, we’ll be serving a taster menu of Turkish cuisine. We’re also very excited to have the first sharing of artist Sadia Sikander’s mural, ‘Together We Rise’. This new artwork has been created through incorporating ideas from members of GREC’s language cafe in Aberdeen, and painted with the help of new scots community groups based in Glasgow. The result will be a bold and collaborative mural, which showcases the power and strength of refugee voices.

This will be a supportive, welcoming gathering, suitable for families and children.
