Community Celebration Families/Young People Food

Taste of Home is a family-friendly cultural celebration bringing refugees, asylum seekers and local residents together through shared food, music and storytelling. Community cooks from Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Cameroon, Nigeria and Congo (DRC) will prepare and share traditional dishes, creating a welcoming “shared table” where people can meet, eat and learn from one another. The event will include short cultural performances, children-friendly activities and space for informal conversations that build understanding and reduce isolation. Refugees and asylum seekers will be involved in planning and delivery as co-hosts, cooks and volunteers, with support for interpretation where needed. The event will celebrate New Scots’ contributions and strengthen community connections in Glasgow in a positive and inclusive way.

Registration is encouraged to help us plan for catering but not required. You can register by WhatsApp/SMS or phone call to 07981748446, by email to info@barakacentre.com.
