We would like to dedicate this year to all New Scots members in our wider community, Glasgow and indeed Scotland. Despite being from different places and here for different reasons, we want to show that no one is really so different from a human perspective. We want to try and focus on people’s lives since having arrived here and discuss in what ways people
are able to reshape and design their lives, their (new) adventures in Scotland and how they are finding the experience.
We want to invite New Scots authors who can come in and start off the event with a reading and presentation of their own adventure in coming to Scotland. The free to attend event will cater for up to 25 participants on 21.06.2025, 14:00-16:30. As we regular work with New Scots (bilingual language support, ESOL, employability training, cultural
events), we hope to encourage New Scots participants to share their thoughts on their personal journey up until now and for Old Scots to find out more.
Scotland in the first place. This event will be open to everyone while contributing to the debate with their own thoughts on adventure and parts of their life stories.
There will also be opportunity for people to ‘network’ while enjoying some snacks and refreshments.
The event is listed on the Language Hub’s website and people should rsvp as spaces are limited
Anyone experiencing internet or technical difficulties can call us or pop into the cafe before the event to register in person.
