Community Celebration Families/Young People Visual Art

Museum of Welcome is a community-led creative project by the Riverside Museum in partnership with Central and West Integration Network, engaging New Scots through museum visits and creative workshops. Participants respond to the museum’s collections and architecture through drawing and painting, exploring themes of identity, memory, and belonging.

Led by Iman Tajik in collaboration with Christina Kyriakidou, the project brings together participants aged 13–65 from diverse backgrounds, many attending as families. It promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and cultural access in line with Glasgow Life.

The project will culminate in a public mural and an exhibition at the Riverside Museum, opening on 14 June 2026 as part of Refugee Festival Scotland (12–21 June), showcasing artworks within the museum and in surrounding public spaces, celebrating shared heritage and community voices.
