Milestones of Migration is an interactive trail and storytelling project celebrating migration milestones—both human and avian. Join How It Felt at ScrapAntics’ Outdoor Celebration at Baxter Park, where participants can decorate their own “mileSTONES”, mapping key moments in their journey, such as first home, first Dundonian word etc. Partnering with RSPB Scotland, we will explore migration milestones of birds like Swifts, drawing parallels between nesting, feeding, and exploration of the city. Encouraging people to reflect on their migration journey, and contribute to a participatory installation celebrating the milestones we’ve mastered, and the ones we aspire to achieve.
This event is the culmination of work created during private workshops with refugee and asylum seekers in Dundee organised through local partnerships, which will take place in early June. Please note the workshops are closed sessions.
The final event at Baxter Park is open to the public. No registration needed, this event is open to the public. If you live locally and would like to take part in the private workshops, please contact debzhowitfelt@gmail.com for more info.
