Migrants Made Glasgow: A Radical Walking Tour

–
McLennan Arch
Glasgow Green, Saltmarket, Glasgow, G1 5JZ
£0-12. You can find out more about our sliding scale and our ticketing at: https://www.glasgowzinelibrary.com/ticketing

The tour is just over 1.5 miles and the route is mainly on city pavements. There are limited opportunities for seated stops along the majority of this route; some stops on the Broomielaw will have bench seating subject to availability, this is two stops out of twelve and both are located towards the middle of the tour.

Please dress for the weather, you get colder on a tour than you would just walking for 1.5 miles so please bring an extra layer!

Both Glasgow Zine Library and Radical Glasgow Tours are dedicated to running accessible events and you can find access pages on both of our websites. We will actively gather and accommodate for people’s individual access needs.

Community Celebration Heritage Talk/Workshop

This is the story of a city, told through the lives of those who were not born, but became, Glaswegians. From its mythical founding by its twin patron saints St Thenew and her son St Mungo, the life of Glasgow has been created by migrants. This walking tour introduces you to a few of them.

Participants of the tour will be gifted a short zine containing some details of the people discussed, contextualised by a narrative on why it is so important that we celebrate migrant histories.
