Mavka is a multidisciplinary performance inspired by Ukrainian folklore, telling the story of a forest nymph’s journey to protect the Enchanted Forest and the magical Source of Life tree. Through dance, live song, and narration, the production explores themes of resilience, belonging, and hope. Rooted in Ukrainian cultural heritage, the project supports refugees in sharing their stories and creative voices with wider Scottish audiences. By bringing together artists and communities from different backgrounds, Mavka fosters cultural exchange, collaboration, and mutual understanding — contributing to the vision of building a shared future through culture and creativity.
