Scottish Storytelling Centre
43-45 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SR
Free

The Scottish Storytelling Centre is fully wheelchair accessible with lift access to all floors and hearing loops in all reception spaces. The workshop facilitators are also able to speak English, Arabic, Italian and French.

We would advise the workshop to be for over 21 year olds (however we would allow accompanying young children).

Finding Common Ground (ran by researchers from the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow)

Outdoor Talk/Workshop

Join us for a community walk and creative writing workshop as part of Refugee Festival Scotland.

We will meet at the Scottish Storytelling Centre and walk down the Royal Mile to the Scottish Parliament, exploring traditions of Scottish poetry through the Canongate Wall, before returning to the Scottish Storytelling Centre to write our own poems in response to the city.

We will discover unexpected connections between migration stories new and old, known and hidden; listen to seldom-heard voices; and find common ground in journeys traced across intersecting landscapes, languages, and literatures.

The event is free to attend but booking is required. A free lunch will be served as part of this event.
