We are delighted to present as part of the Doc Screen and Refugee Festival Scotland the Scottish premiere of Black Water, a beautifully-crafted, human story from the frontlines of climate change.
Doc Screen is an initiative in partnership with Filmhouse which aims to bring more independent documentaries into the cinema, and to open up spaces for political and creative forms of expression, debate and solidarity.
The film is also screening in Glasgow as part of the Southside Open-Air Cinema Day on 14th June.
In southern Bangladesh, Lokhi and her family prepare to escape an extreme climate and flee to Dhaka – the fastest growing city in the world. Thousands of climate refugees arrive every day in the capital, but how long will Dhaka be able to accommodate so many people? A film about a future that is already a reality.
The screening will be accompanied by an extended introduction and resources for further action.
