Celebrating refugee communities while honouring the values of Kairos: collaboration, inclusion, kindness and support
Join Kairos Women+ (your favourite local space for women+) to celebrate the Refugee Festival with an evening sharing our stories through music, poetry and conversation. Expect lots of joy, music and collective celebration.
What we will do
- Hear a poem collaboratively written by women+ and experience their artwork in the space
- Take part in an activity to collectively create a poem or a spoken piece
- Enjoy food, music and dancing!
The Open Mic
We’ll have 3-5 open mic slots available (5-minutes each) for you to perform. Poetry, music, comedy – whatever it is, the mic is yours!
Eat, eat, eat!
Delicious, wholesome food from the wonderful Bisola, and a Glasgow-based restaurant for snacks. Jollof Rice, Vegetable Pies and a selection of Pakistani Street Food. There will also be hot and cold drinks available.
Dance and chat
We always have time for dancing and chatting. Perfect for the whole family.
Children’s area
We’ll have an area for children with toys and games. Children must be supervised by their parent or caregiver.
Pay what you can!
We need your support now more than ever so if you can pay for a ticket or add a donation, you’ll be helping a small charity supporting women+ keep going (and enjoying a good night out along the way!) If you don’t have any money to spare, get a free ticket, no questions asked.
This event is generously funded by National Lottery Community Fund: Awards for All.
