Ignite Theatre presents a double bill of new plays:
And Still I Rise is inspired by the Maya Angelou poem, exploring how we face hardships and come back stronger. Performed by a diverse cast of 12-21 year olds.
Don’t You Forget About Me features children aged 6-12. It is set in the ward of a children’s hospital. Both funny and sad, it seeks to show what life is like when illness interrupts childhood and dreams are put on hold.
Ignite Theatre was founded in Glasgow in 2010. They engage with a diverse range of young people, offering free drama workshops and creating innovative new work.
Book tickets | tickets: £10 / £5 concession (includes £1.5 booking fee)
Wheelchair accessible | both the theatre and bar at Webster’s have wheelchair access. Entry to the bar is by the side door. The side door is accessed by a ramped lane to the right hand side of the building (as seen from Great Western Road, when facing the front door). Once inside the bar, the building is all on one level and access to the theatre is by the normal route from the bar, via the hall where the box office is situated.
For customers with limited mobility, the wheelchair accessible route is the easiest way to enter the theatre. It is also possible to enter via the main door into the theatre, but there is a small set of external stairs.
