By Bike for Good
Cycle’48 – 3 women who pedal from Bethlehem to Jaffa, uncovering the hidden histories of depopulated Palestinian villages along the way. Marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba (‘catastrophe’) of 1948, come along to share their journey & learn the stories of these places & the people who were forced to leave their homes.
Palestinian refreshments included.
Bike for Good started in July 2010, unfunded in a small stall in Glasgow’s famous Barras market. 7 years later they have two branches. An amazing team of 50 + individuals, and they have changed thousands of lives. They sell second hand bikes, teach cycle training or bike maintenance skills, take people out on led rides and enable people to lead bike rides in their communities, and hold fun events such as this.
Their mission is to enable people to cycle as their mode of transport. Their vision is a city where everyone benefits from riding a bicycle.
