Charlie’s Promise: An Afternoon with author Annemarie Allan

14:00 - 16:30

By Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC)

The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities and the Scottish Book Trust invite you to the first in a series of author reading events to be held in 2018. Award-winning author Annemarie Allan will read from her new children’s novel Charlie’s Promise. She will then host a discussion surrounding the themes of the book, followed by a writing workshop. There will also be a kosher buffet served, offering a chance to mingle. This event will bring together young people and adults from both the Jewish and refugee communities – as well as others from the local area.

The Scottish Council of Jewish Communities (SCoJeC) is the democratic organisation that represents the organised Jewish community in Scotland. Their remit includes a strong commitment to fostering integration and promoting dialogue and understanding between the Jewish community and other communities in Scotland, and they work in partnership with other organisations and communities to promote equality, good relations, and mutual understanding.

SCoJeC’s will also be serving its famous kosher buffet of smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, and rugelach.
