The Congolese Community Unit in Scotland invite you to a poetry event where teenagers from their community will be invited to write a poem in French, Lingala or English expressing their vision for their future in Scotland. As music is a big part of their culture, they will also include traditional dancing as an option for the teenagers who already dance and perform as an extracurricular activity.
CCUS works to unite all citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo living in Scotland to offer them guidance and help to integrate in to Scottish and UK Society. They liaise with other organisations, local authorities, government departments and other relevant agencies with a view to assisting said community by keeping them informed, helping them to integrate and combat poverty. They provide information and advice directly or by signposting our community members to relevant and qualified agencies in the areas of: Housing, Education, Training, Translation and English lessons.
