The Al Amal committee will bring together members of the Scottish and the Syrian communities in Aberdeenshire to explore memories of great food during workshops, culminating in a joint celebratory meal.

As part of the preparations: women are invited to join a workshop the week before at the Garioch Community Centre to make some pottery serving plates on which to serve the food; and men are invited to a workshop, also the week before, at the Garioch Community Kitchen to learn how to bake Arabic bread.
