By National Theatre of Scotland

Watch Adam, the screen adaptation of the acclaimed multi-award-winning stage play inspired by the life of Adam Kashmiry, online as part of Refugee Festival Scotland.

Adam tells the remarkable story of a young trans man and his struggle across genders and borders to be himself. Originally a multi-award-winning stage play, Adam has been reinvented as a compelling, theatrical on-screen drama, presented by the National Theatre of Scotland and Hopscotch Films. Adam Kashmiry performs, as himself, in the leading role and is directed by Cora Bissett.

The film will be streamed on the National Theatre of Scotland’s website, available on a Pay What You Wish sliding scale from Sunday 19 – Monday 27 June.

Adam will also be made freely available to Scottish schools via the Company’s education portal.
