Sharing Stories of Hope and Courage

To mark Refugee Festival Scotland 2023, Interfaith Glasgow’s Weekend Club are hosting a women’s event with Scottish Jewish Archives Centre, learning about and celebrating refugee histories in Scotland. The women, many of whom will be Weekend Club participants and volunteers from refugee backgrounds, will enjoy a guided tour of the Garnethill Synagogue, the Archive Centre, and the Scottish Jewish Holocaust Era Study Centre. In particular, we will learn about the story of a woman artist who fled the Nazis in her home in Austria and came to Scotland. Inspired by her story and work, the women will do a craft activity around what gives them hope in challenging times. All women welcome!
The event will be completely free to attend and lunch will be provided. Travel expenses will be provided for those from refugee backgrounds.
