Refugee Festival Scotland 2023 Football Tournament

Glasgow Afghan United and Scottish Unity Football League are celebrating Refugee Festival Scotland 2023 through football. Local, ethnic minority and refugee communities will come together to enjoy football on World Refugee Day. We hope to encourage communities to use football to promote diversity and the richness that people from many backgrounds bring to Scotland. The event will provide an opportunity for all to play football regardless of race, religion, nationality, age, sexual orientation or any other factors.

Through this tournament we hope to strengthen integration by stimulating helpful conversations between newly arrived groups and those from established communities. It is a one-day event and 500 people are expected to attend. There will be 24 teams of 7 aside; each team will register 10 players. Refreshment will be provided to all participants and the winning teams will be awarded a trophy and the 2 top teams will be awarded medals.
