This is a free workshop for those who want to learn more about the asylum process in the UK, co-created with people who have direct experience of the UK’s Hostile Environment policies.
This session will breakdown the reality beyond the headlines and the political rhetoric. We aim to answer questions such as:
What does it mean to be a refugee? Is an asylum seeker different? Why are people paying smugglers to get in small boats?
Come along in hope, solidarity and activism to discuss how we can best offer our support to the New Scots community and explore ways to be a good and useful ally. This event will be happening on Thursday 22nd June 6:00pm- 8:30pm and Saturday 24th June 3:00pm – 5:30pm.
