6 Foodie Events at this Year’s Festival

Published on 25-May-2023

Enjoy some delicious food, learn about different cultures, and celebrate the diversity of our communities at one of the many food-related events at Refugee Festival Scotland 2023!

Here is just a handful of the foodie events taking place this June! Feast your eyes on these:

Learn new dishes of African origin at a master cooking class run by community group Africa Delice.

Do you know your khuba from your kvass? If not, head to Ayr High Street to experience Syrian and Ukrainian home cooking, learn how to make Arabic coffee and find out a little about the refugee experience.

Sample some Syrian food and see art and photographs produced by New Scots and local volunteers around the theme of ‘hope’ at the Bank of Ideas in Rothesay High Street.

This family event has something for everyone – the foodies and the kiddies! As well as a variety of delicious food from some amazing caterers, there will also be a kids’ corner, live music and entertainment, art exhibitions, and interactive games and activities.

Enjoy delicious food and listen to the beautiful beats of African Caribbean music with creative performing artist Amu Logotse at this family-friendly BBQ event.

Listen to two women who are sharing their heartening memories of home and take the opportunity to try food from their country of origin.
