At venues across Scotland, performers are preparing to take to the stage for Refugee Festival Scotland. If you are a fan of theatre, here are five powerful plays to look out for in this year’s programme.
The Glasgow Film Theatre has joined forces with the National Theatre of Scotland to host this very special screening of Adam. The screen adaptation of the multi-award-winning play inspired by the life of Adam Kashmiry tells the story of a young trans man and his struggle across genders and borders to be himself. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Adam and director, Cora Bissett. Read more…

Explore the skills talents and stories of refugee and asylum-seeking women, through song and performance. This play invokes the journeys that African women have taken to reach Scotland, their current lives, and the contributions they make in their new communities. Read more…
Glasgow’s favourite lunchtime theatre, A Play, A Pie and A Pint, presents The Words, a thought-provoking new play about Home Office asylum interviews. Head over to Oran Mor between 20-25 June to explore how the words we choose can shape the way our stories are seen and understood.
