Opportunity for artists from refugee backgrounds

We are delighted to launch Arts Open as part of Refugee Festival Scotland 2024.

Every year, alongside the festival’s open programme, Scottish Refugee Council commissions a number of events.

Arts Open is a new initiative which will support three artists from refugee and migrant backgrounds to present their work in Scotland for the first time at this year’s festival.

This opportunity is open to artists working in any discipline. The closing date for Arts Open applications is 12 noon on Friday, 1 March.

Find more details and apply here.

A festival for everyone

Refugee Festival Scotland is a national celebration of arts, culture, and diversity.

Every summer we share a packed programme of events showcasing the colour, creativity, food, music, language and ideas that people bring with them when they settle in Scotland.

The theme for 2024 is RISE! Read more about the inspiration for this year’s festival here.

We hope you can join us from 14 to 23 June when we rise together in solidarity, friendship and celebration.
